ABOUT LIZ

about - liz - Beautiful Couples with Liz.jpg

Color has the power to lift us up, make us happy, and change our moods. Color should be a magnetic force that makes us want to stay right in front of it. This is the way I treat all of my color work. Whether it’s a large piece or small, bold or quiet, color should be like a very good companion in a room. It should make us feel optimistic and remind us that no matter what - life is beautiful. This has always been the meaning behind color for me.

I am incredibly grateful to have studied and taught alongside Ati Gropius for 30 years. Ati was not only the daughter of Walter Gropius, founder of the Bauhaus, she was also a direct student of Josef Albers.  Ati dedicated her entire life to Bauhaus and Albers’ teachings, and she taught me everything I know about Color and Design. Our teaching took us to many prestigious institutions, such as The Museum of Modern Art, a Museum I had the honor of designing products for. I was chosen as Ati’s successor and I continue the work we did together every day in my art and design collection, as well as my teachings to corporations.

A recent project we're thrilled to have worked on is the Liz Roache Optimism collection of textiles, wall coverings and rugs, with the venerable and internationally-known house of Pierre Frey. The collection is beautiful, energetic, bold and of extraordinary quality.  We’ve also recently introduced Liz Roache fine art prints, with the exceptional and ultra fun retailer Design Within Reach. Our artwork has been placed in many beautiful residential, and commercial properties - from small apartments, to large hotels, to entire offices. It would be our pleasure to help you with your project as well.

OUR TEAM

DAVE

Inspired by the optimism and positivity of my wife’s designs and color interactions, I support Liz and her team on strategy, finance and business development- including collaborations and licensing partnerships.

A lifelong entrepreneur (and a frustrated gardener!), growing business is my passion. I try to leverage 30 years of perspective across multiple sectors to help “connect the dots.”

Curiosity and adventure are at the core of my spare time pursuits.  I enjoy family time, biking the rail trails of New England, reading and listening to almost anything, and trying to learn portrait painting and guitar-though Picasso and Hendrix have nothing to fear!

Meeting Liz Roache changed my life. Working with Liz has given me the opportunity to see her boundless energy to make the world a more beautiful place through the power of color. It is simply an amazing experience and I’m honored to work with Liz on the technical side of her art to make it the best it can be. My attention to detail is a crucial part of my contribution to the team.

MICHELLE

Step into Liz Roache Studio and you are immediately impressed by her sense of color and design. It is one of the many reasons I love educating our customers about Liz’s work, her formal training, and customization capabilities.

Twenty years of project management experience comes in handy when managing contracts, volume orders, problem solving, logistics, and schedules for our customers.  I also research new artwork opportunities for small and large projects. If you need assistance with your project, please contact me at michelle@lizroache.com.

On my days off you will find me boxing or at the gym lifting weights trying to beat a personal best.

I work with Liz to convert her amazing original works of art into printable files. We spend a lot of time meticulously assembling color puzzles to coordinate with everything from wall coverings, fabric, paint.

When I am not working with Liz I am a freelance Floral and Graphic designer.
